Windermere peaks aren’t for musing over decades of despair.
This invokes the idea that…walking around the yard alone might tamper the grass. Letting it both grow while your future concerns gain momentum to flourish without fear.
At the very least. You won’t find wisteria grown over your past. Leaving evidence of where you’ve stepped to provide proof of all you’ve walked towards.
Without leaving the comfort of what you found happy during days of future past.
It continues to amaze me how powerful poetry can be when it comes to conveying a context of strong emotions present in a life situation, at once familiar and uniquely yours, and at the same time all the thoughts – both the expressed ones and the ones that are withheld – that makes the scene almost explosive. I see many layers in your poem, also those related to time. Two lines stand out for me:
“That art triumphs conformity. /That love conquers all.” Thank you for the gift of your poem.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous response.
I’m glad those lines resonated with you; they’re at the heart of what I was trying to explore—the tension between structure and freedom, and the enduring strength of love. Your words truly honor the layers within the poem and encourage me to keep writing.
Thank you again for this meaningful gift of reflection.
So many thoughts and emotions. Stunning write!
Positively stunning. Incredible imagery, and such wonderful grounding. I can *feel* the many stories you’re telling
